Solar energy is now more practical than ever. Sun power is now becoming an affordable solution to many of our energy needs. Many people talk about how they would like to be able to harness free energy from the sun instead of paying the power companies or other energy suppliers month after month for their home auto and other energy needs. Most never do anything about it though mostly because of the high cost of solar panels and other components. But solar energy systems don’t have to be that expensive. There are ways to harness the sun’s energy that are affordable.

Imagine if you had invested in a solar power system a few years ago. You could have already paid for it by now and now be enjoying free energy instead of paying money every month for your energy. There is no better time than now to start investing in solar energy before you throw away any more of your money to energy suppliers.

What many people don’t realize, is you can save a lot of money by building your own solar energy systems yourself. You can build solar panels for a fraction of the cost of retail. For example, a 120 watt panel can be built for less than $200, or with some extra effort, as little as $100. This would be a solar panel much more powerful than the one in the above video.

Solar electric panels are not the only way to harness solar power. Solar energy can be converted directly to heat very easily. This heat can be harnessed for heating water and buildings. It is very easy to Build a Solar Water Heater with common inexpensive material. It may not be quite as efficient as the multi thousand dollar models, but it will certainly do the job for a fraction of the cost.

If your roof is exposed to full sun, there is more than enough energy that hits your roof on a sunny day to power your home, including enough to heat your pool, and maybe even enough left over to partly power your car. It is there for the taking, you just have to learn how to capture it.
